We love craft beer guys. The only thing we love more than craft beer is locally brewed craft beer. Luckily for us, Texas has been the birthplace for many breweries; each with their own unique recipes satisfy a wide range of palates. From lagers to stouts, our local breweries have something for everyone.
Community Beer Company
This is the closest brewery to us, right in the design district a few miles from our store (1.5 miles to be exact). These guys are passionate about their beer and their desire to share it with the community. Their brews are broad and complex from their American-style mosaic IPA to their Belgian Style Trinity Tripel. We’re not the only ones that think their beer is amazing, check out all of their awards here.
Franconia Brewing Company
A refreshing small brewery headed by a brewmaster that comes from a long line brewers all the way from Germany. Not only does this brewmaster have brewing in his blood, he has spent his whole life perfecting it. Franconia’s wheat and kolsch beers are both ridiculously delicious and totally refreshing. Read about Franconia and their brewmaster Dennis Wehrmann.
Lakewood Brewing Company
Lakewood was the first local craft beer we added to the store, they were definitely our first beer crush. They also have an extensive beer portfolio full of core and seasonal beers, which you can find here. Lakewood is also a lover of White Rock Lake, donating a portion of their Rock Ryder sales to For the Love of the Lake; an organization dedicated to the lake’s preservation.
Texas Big Beer Company
This small South Texas Brewery packs a punch, they take Texas size seriously. All of their beers are in 22 ounce bottles and they have a Texas sized alcohol content. Even so, Texas Big Beer is a personal brewery, their brewers bring the beer themselves and love to take the time to pour a sample and talk about beer.
Wicked Beaver Brewing
Our only brewery in west Texas, these guys know how to make hoppy beers. They also have a great sense of humor, check out their website to see what we’re talking about. They also have a diversity in their beers, from a hoppy IPA to a light cream ale. All of this deliciousness comes from a hands on approach and the guys at wicked beaver know this.
So there you have it guys; awesome beer and it’s all made here in Texas. Stop by our store and build your own six-pack, try them all. Go Texan.
